Hi everyone this is Dave from Hi Fly Kites. 1. Welcome This is the very first Newsletter. Actually this newsletter was not originally planned, it all started with a customer survey and one point that came up, repeatedly, is the need for a newsletter, so here it is. I hope to be able to bring it to you monthly but in order to do this remember, this newsletter is for you. I need to know what you are up to, where do you fly, do you belong to a kite club or would you like to start one, anything of interest. I will try to fill the pages with interesting stories, tips and news but this must be a team effort although from the response so far, I know it is going to be a great success. 2. This Month's Winner Our winner this month of the Kite Aerial Photography Rig valued at R500-00 is Francois of North Riding. Congratulations, your parcel is on its way. 3. Kite Happenings It’s Royal Show time again: 22nd May to 1st June 2003. Pietermaritzburg Tourism has asked us to decorate the ceiling of Hall 1 with kites. We are really excited and the whole team is frantically busy and we are also hoping to have on display hand painted Chinese kites. One thing is for sure, it will be bright. For those who can make it, we have a stand at the entrance of Hall 1 so we would love to see you. If you have any kite happenings you would like to announce, kite days etc. please let me know - click here. 4. What’s New We have some big plans and are in the process of implementing them. One is this newsletter but we are also working on new kite designs, a whole new web site. I will keep you posted as the changes happen. 5. Did You Know Crocodiles can’t stick their tongues out. Actually has nothing to do with kites but I thought it was funny. Did you know that in 1887, E.D. Archibold was the first person to take an aerial photograph, in those days quite an achievement considering how heavy and bulky the equipment was. If you want to learn more about E.D. Archibold and kite aerial photography click here. Happy flying and may the wind always be at you back. 6. Subscription This is a free newsletter. If you know of anyone who would be interested, please forward it on (click ). To subscribe to our newseltter, click here. |
